Polk Equine has been serving Polk, Highlands, Hardee, and Osceola Counties since 2003. We are a general medicine practice for horses, cattle, goats and sheep. Services include: dentistry, lameness, reproduction, and nutritional counseling. We utilize equipment such as digital radiography (x-rays), Capps Rotary Burr (dental equipment), and ultrasound.

Does Your horses mouth look like this, is it dropping feed or performing poorly? Contact us today to schedule an appointment to help prevent unneeded pain in your horses mouth.

A lame horse hurts somewhere. It’s up to us to find out what's causing the pain and to see that the horse receives proper treatment. In most cases, lameness is temporary and the horse recovers with proper care.

Regular ultrasound examinations are used to target the optimal time for artifical insemination in the horse.
Equine recurrent uveitis is one of the most common ocular diseases in horses, classically characterized by episodes of active inflammation followed by varying periods of quiescence. During the so-called quiescent periods, low-grade, subclinical inflammation may continue in at least some individuals. Regardless of the specific course, the inflammatory events eventually lead to secondary changes. It is these adverse secondary complications that make this syndrome the most common cause of blindness in horses.
Routine vaccination and preventative deworming protocols insure the health of your companions.
Utilizing our digital radiology system allows our staff to make the appropriate medical decisions during the scheduled appointment. This eliminates the need for return visits when conventional radiographs do not yield all of the necessary information.
